Tip Of The Week - June Recap

Coach Monika says… Week 1: Motor-endurance sports like swimming require both strength AND endurance. Therefore, knowing how to optimize these is fundamental to success. These have to be trained at the optimal developmental phase for both boys and girls (different maturity ages). Week 2: All children are different and it would be short sighted to believe that each child is motivated by the same factor{s}.ise. Week 3: The age of young athletes and the level of competition play a role in motivating each participant at various degrees. Week 4: When searching for the right mix of motivation, it is important to understand the factors actually influencing young athletes and then design ways to ‘feed’ those factors in practices in order to achieve the best results in competition.
